James Bryan & A.J Harvey
A walk in the park during a global pandemic sparked music magic for Juno and Latin Grammy winning guitarist/songwriter James Bryan and international soulful house music singer/songwriter MissFly otherwise known as AJ Harvey.
Both former Torontonians who now call Hamilton home, were looking for a new musical outlet in the surreal world of 2020. “I was walking my dog when A.J and I met and we quickly discovered we had a lot of mutual friends from the Toronto scene”,James recalls.
After a jam session in James’ back garden, they both knew this was something special.” The first time we played (Bob Marley’s) Redemption Song, we knew we had to record it, and that became our first single”, says A.J.
That led to regular writing and jam sessions for the duo. The sound of A.J and James together is a unique brand of acoustic soul, and in our new world of social distancing, social unrest and change, their uplifting and soothing acoustic songs are just what the world needs to soothe our collective souls.
James Bryan
James’ professional career started as a member of 90’s Canadian acts Philosopher Kings and Prozzak , and led to a prolific songwriting and performing career with international artists Nelly Furtado, Luis Fonsi, Shawn Mendes and more. James has played on countless recordings and performed on stages from Wembley Stadium to Madison Square Gardens and Massey Hall.
A.J Harvey
A.J Harvey aka MissFly launched her singing career at 13 backing up famous reggae artist Leroy Sibbles, She has worked as a background vocalist for both local and international artists, including legend
Thelma Houston and Andrew Tosh ( son of reggae star Peter Tosh).
A.J’s talents as a songwriter and vocalist have led to a career in the international house music genre with collaborations with
Adam K, Seelo, Ian Friday, Munk Julious, Sean Ali, and Mr.Electric.
